I'm using a set of buttons at the top of each of 3 sheets to hyperlink to other sheets. For some reason, on (only) 2 of the destination sheets, my table of values is prehighlighted when the sheet is jumped to, even if i make sure they were not before. There is also a slight dotted line around the selection.

any ideas?

Excel Facts

How can you turn a range sideways?
Copy the range. Select a blank cell. Right-click, Paste Special, then choose Transpose.
it sounds like your hyperlink for first two buttons is referencing a set of cells in the hyperlink, but the third is not being that specific but maybe only referencing the sheet or workbook,.

I would check that all of the hyperlinks are referencing the same level of detail as each other-

Hope that helps

ah-ha!
when i view the hyperlink dialogue, the 3 destination pages have 'print area' attached to the end of thesheet name. The selected areas on 2 of the sheets coincide with the print area but the 3rd has no selection (but still has 'print area' after its name.
Surely I dont have to dump the print area to lose the highlights and how come its ok on the 3rd page?

sorted! in the hyperlink dialogue you are given a choice of the sheet with and without the print area as a destination. I needed to scroll the list further to see this. Its a very useful thing to know!
