I lost the information on this problem so I need a little help with this. I have downloaded some numbers from a data base and installed them in Excel ss. Now I want to subtract some numbers. When I do the subtraction like =(F3-E3) the results is #Value!. I have tried several things to change to a number, no results. One thing that does work is if a type over the #Value! changes to a number. What do I have to do so all the #Value! change to the required numbers. Thanks for any help on this.

You can teach Excel a new custom list. Type the list in cells, File, Options, Advanced, Edit Custom Lists, Import, OK
The data you are downloading has hidden formatting from the HTML encoding. It's usually a hidden carriage return. Copy all the numbers and then Paste As Values, then try some maths operations on the numbers to see if the hidden formatting gets wiped out.

Are you downloading numbers with decimals ? do the have the right separator ? In this case you could try with Find/Replace for fixing.
