Howdy all,

I'm new to this forum so bear with me if I goof at first.

I'm in a pickle regarding my college math courses. Try as I might, I simply cannot understand the written math language no matter how many times I keep going over the text. However, I can easily understand the spreadsheet equivilents. Problem is that I do not properly understand how to set up a spreadsheet workbook correctly to run the formulas for the data.

Currently we are doing probabilities (for example probability of rolling a 5 with one balanced die. Things like that.)

When I attempt to do the math as the books tell me to do, by the time I've finished the readings I've totally confused myself to the point where I don't know what to add, subtract, multiply etc.

Can someone walk me through setting up some basic templates so I can run the functions and pass my class? If I don't pass, I will be dismissed from college and be stuck with the financial aid, while not properly prepared to get back into the job market. The math is a pre-requiste because it's been over 40 years since I've had to deal with College math.

My degree is business administration of which I've had lots of years of hands on experience prior to the age of computers. So while there's lots of helpful and useful demos regarding things like "Sales" and "Profit and Loss" stuff out on the web, I've had problems finding the specific needs for me and this class.

Do you all need me to upload specific questions or is there a way to design a basic template with the correct formatting (i.e. formulas vs. data) that I can use to work my homework and tests?

Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.

Marty

How to change case of text in Excel?
Use =UPPER() for upper case, =LOWER() for lower case, and =PROPER() for proper case. PROPER won't capitalize second c in Mccartney
Hello.

I'm afraid that you'll have to try to understand the basic math.

If you post a specific problem then we'll try to help you solve it in Excel but that won't help you to pass your course.
