Is there a way to build a check for a group of numbers that show growth. The spreadsheet I am working with is as similar to what is outlined below. Is there a mathematical or excel way for the sheet to check against itself to make sure that the growth column calculation is correct for each of the lines items and for the totals?

B

100.0%
200.0%

do you have a formula in the growth column ????
or did you just want a percent formula which checks

=(2022 cell - 2021 cell ) / 2021 cell

=(200-100) /100
=100/100
=1
=100%

so you could use that in another column - or conditional formatting

i suppose there maybe some fraction thats different
if someone has rounded up say
99.6% and made it 100%
then the calc would make it 99.6% and so flag as an error when its NOT
so may have to factor a tolerance

not sure on the 200% - why is that there - the total is not 200% but still 100%

300 600
=(600-300)/300

The 200 is meaningless in terms of measure. What I am really trying to do is figure out if there is a formula to validate the totals against the individual values. in other words some combination to validate that 300 (2021) and 600 (2022) equal a total value of the percentage to ensure that all growth formulas are calculating correctly. I thought of using averages of each but that does column to get to an average percentage but that does not work.

i thought i provided that
some combination to validate that 300 (2021) and 600 (2022) equal a total value of the percentage to ensure that all growth formulas are calculating correctly.
when i said
=(2022 cell - 2021 cell ) / 2021 cell

=(200-100) /100
=100/100
=1
=100%

so you could use that in another column - or conditional formatting
and gave the above example

i clearly missed something and not understanding - sorry
validate that 300 (2021) and 600 (2022) equal a total value of the percentage
so use the formula in G8 i posted
