Excel Facts

Why are there 1,048,576 rows in Excel?
The Excel team increased the size of the grid in 2007. There are 2^20 rows and 2^14 columns for a total of 17 billion cells.
Try:
Code:
Sub DeleteRows()
    Application.ScreenUpdating = False
    Dim ws As Worksheet
    On Error Resume Next
    For Each ws In Sheets
        ws.Columns("A").Replace "file not submitted", "#N/A", xlWhole, , False
        ws.Columns("A").SpecialCells(xlConstants, xlErrors).EntireRow.Delete
    Next ws
    On Error GoTo 0
    Application.ScreenUpdating = True
End Sub
Please note that this will delete the rows on all the worksheets. If you want to exclude any sheets, the macro will have to be modified.
