Good Afternoon:

Each month, I am required to generate a monthly report with fields and columns of data the same as the previous month and identify the discrepancies.

I have been trying to highlight changes using conditional formatting but this approach does not catch all of the changes.

Is there a formula driven approach that highlights any deletions, changes and additions to the data between the 2 reports?

Otherwise it is a manual exercise which takes hours if not days.

Excel Facts

Select all contiguous cells
Pressing Ctrl+* (asterisk) will select the "current region" - all contiguous cells in all directions.
The only thing I can think of doing is to take a third sheet, and to test for any changes in A2, enter this formula on that sheet in A2:

=IF(Sheet1!A2=Sheet2!A2,"","YES")

Drag this formula across and down. This will you a template of any changes that have been made.
