Hello!
I have been researching a very specific way to efficiently verify information in cells for a large file of data that contain similar matches by way of keyword search. For example, one cell identifies an item as “XL denim jeans” while the other item is “ Jeans, Denim size 40W straight fit.” With what I’m trying to do, the formula would identify these as “similar” since both are XL denim jeans whereas if the cell on the same row was a microwave, it would identify it as no match. For similar matching purposes, how can I create a formula that would scan for key words in cells that would bring a similar match so I can quickly sift through the data that is an obvious no match like jeans compared to a microwave)? Is this possible to do? The alternative is having to go line by line in order to verify if the matches are similar/same when the descriptions are worded differently. This is tedious and time consuming in order to provide accurate comparison data, especially for 500-7000 rows of data. If there was a way to at least verify the two cells are the similar item, that’d be such a huge help!! That way I can filter to the ones that are obviously not similar matches at all and remove the inaccurate data. The data varies every time, which makes this effort complicated.
