Hello All,

I'm not sure if this is conditional formatting or a simple formula, but I'd like to be able to enter in the text "Yellow", "Red" or "Green" in cell AC3 and, depending on the text name, highlight all the cells in that row up to cell AC3 that color.

So if the text "yellow" is entered in cell AC3, then the cells in A3 to AC3 will all be highlighted yellow.

Can this be done?

Thanks :)

Excel Facts

What is =ROMAN(40) in Excel?
The Roman numeral for 40 is XL. Bill "MrExcel" Jelen's 40th book was called MrExcel XL.
HI DO THE FOLLOWING
1) Select Your All Range Where you Want To use Condition For E.g. A3:AC3 or A3:AC100
2) Go to Conditional Formatting ( Press ALT+O+D)
3) NEW RULE > USE A FORMULA TO DETERMINE WHICH CELLS TO FORMAT
4) Paste This Formula there =$AC3="RED"
5) Now Select Color Format RED And Apply And Ok

Same Way Set another 2 Color Condition

kevatarvind,

Thanks but that didn't work. I'm sure it's something I'm doing but don't know what.

Any thoughts?

Sorry about that it works!

Thanks
