How can I use IF statement to SUM numbers on a list which have related date list.

IF(date>10/29/04,+A2,0)

If I use the above formula it sees the"10/29/04" as a number not a date.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Try the SUMIF function:
Book1
ABCD
1210/29/20047
231/27/2005
3510/29/2004
4101/13/2005
5410/30/2004

Use SUMIF:

=SUMIF(A:A,">1/29/2005",D:D)

This will check column A and note any dates after the given one, then sum the values in column D.

Perfect. Thanks.
