Hello all,

i am fairly new to this and have created my 1st access database and have uploaded a sample here:
http://81.134.132.58/josh/sample.zip

I have two or three checkbox's on different forms but on the same table.
I was wondering if these are all ticked, whether it could automatically check the final forth checkbox named "complete".

Thanks,
Josh

Excel Facts

Which came first: VisiCalc or Lotus 1-2-3?
Dan Bricklin and Bob Frankston debuted VisiCalc in 1979 as a Visible Calculator. Lotus 1-2-3 debuted in the early 1980's, from Mitch Kapor.
Josh,

I cannot see your checkbox called complete on any form including your Destruction form, I can see it in the table TBL_Job.

yes, its not on any forms but i want it to automatically put a tick so that i can put a query on the forms not to show the completed jobs.

Thanks,

Josh,

Place the field on the form, but change the property to invisble then you can add the if statement if you don't want to show records that have the tick in the box you can still use it as part of the criteria.

im confused,
I have a form called FRM_JobsDelivery and a form called FRM_JobsBilling.
On the billing form there is a "Billed" checkbox and on the delivery form there is a "Delivered" checkbox,
I want it so that when both of these are ticked, it automatically puts a yes in the complete field.

sorry Trev, am fairly new to all this,

Cheers,
Josh

You mention that you are working on 2 forms, you need to look at them as separate elements in Access, you would need to have both forms open and would need to show the other option.

So The Job Delivery would need certain elements completed then the Job Billing would then need the remainder elements completed, as I don't think you would look to raise a Bill before the Delivery.

Without creating Access VBA to check the record in the table, it would be easier to look at it like a stepping stone, part 1 complete delivery notice, part 2 complete billing for the record, and at this stage add code to check that it is complete so it keeps it off the list and out of the forms, then perhaps have a form for completed deliveries and billing (same form).

Morning trev,

the only problem i have is that its not always 100% billed after delivery, sometimes it might be billed before delivery. so what would you suggest for that?

thanks,
Josh

Hi Josh,

What about creating a query that will display each Job ID and also the delivery option and billing option, then set the criteria in the query to state all 3 fields must be completed to clear them of the list, otherwise they remain on the list, then you can check the list each day by running the queries and the ones you have verified you can adjust in the query and then they get cleared off the list.
