Hey Guys
I am trying to perform a simple if formula, however the cell I am using the if formula to check may be blank or may have a value. I have tried a normula if formula however it does not work because if the cell is blank it will return the true value even though it does not meet the formula criteria.
How do i make an if formula that will ignore a blank cell.
Here is the formula I am trying to perform.
=IF(B4>B55,"1","")
Anu help would be appreciated.
Thanks

Excel Facts

Select all contiguous cells
Pressing Ctrl+* (asterisk) will select the "current region" - all contiguous cells in all directions.
You don't say which cell might be blank. Try this:-
Code:
=IF(AND(B4<>"",B4>B55),"1","")

The "" is not a blank, it's a zero length string. If pasted as a value it will be considered part of a filled cell. That might be the problem.
