I am working on a household inventory spreadsheet. It contains; the item, age and life of the item, replacement cost, the depreciation of the item (age divided by life) and the actual cash value of the item. My problem is with the depreciation. I need to cap it at 75%, so if an item has depreciated more than 75%, I need it to it to be 75%.

How to calculate loan payments in Excel?
Use the PMT function: =PMT(5%/12,60,-25000) is for a $25,000 loan, 5% annual interest, 60 month loan.

Try this...

B2 = age
C2 = life

=MIN(0.75,B2/C2)
