IF function not returning correct values

Good morning,

I tried a quick search earlier and found no help with this problem. I have a column (P318:P1576) that has a formula to return TRUE or FALSE. That is working fine, but the next column I am trying to return an "X" if the cell in column P is TRUE, and return a blank cell if it is FALSE. The formula I tried is =IF(P318="TRUE","X","") ,then copied that formula down the column. Nothing shows up when the cell is TRUE. Any ideas? Thanks!

Try removing the double quotes around TRUE.

Bingo. I assumed since the cell was text that it needed the quotes. Always something simple. Thanks!

The =TRUE could also be dropped.

=IF(P318,"X","")
