Hi

I have 2 list's of Data. I want to run a vlookup formula on one data sheet with another.

If the Data is contained in the 2nd table I want to return the narrative "in stock". If it is not included in the other table I want to run the narrative "not in stock".

What formula would I use?

Does the VLOOKUP table have to be sorted?
No! when you are using an exact match, the VLOOKUP table can be in any order. Best-selling items at the top is actually the best.
Use something like:

=IF(COUNTIF(Sheet2!A:A,Sheet1!A1),"In Stock","Out of Stock")
