IF sum C3 + D3 + E3 does not = C4 then the number which appears in C5 is red.
IF they do = the number is blue.

How do I do this? Can someone please tell me the formula.

Ben

Hi benfitz,

Use the following conditional formatting conditions and set the font to each one as desired (i.e. red for condition 1, blue for condition 2):

1. =SUM(C3:E3)<>C4
2. =SUM(C3:E3)=C4

Till Total 300 600 310 (sum three cells)

Tape Total 1200 (merged cell)

Differ 10 (merged cell)

I tried the conditional formatting but have had troubles with the blue condition.When i put the suggested formatting in, regardless of a positive or negative number, it was red. I don't know much about excel so i am more than likely making an error somewhere. Further help would be much appreciated.

I want to get the following in my spread sheet.
Condition 1: =SUM(Till Total) < Tape Total ..... if not the differ number should be red
Condition 2: =SUM(Till Total) => Tape Total .... if yes the differ number should be blue

Please help.
