IF(OR) statement

The below formula is returning #VALUE!

=IF(OR(LEFT(RIGHT(G112,12),3),LEFT(G112,3))="OIS",1,2)

Can anybody advise why it is failing?

You are using OR wrong.

=IF(OR(LEFT(RIGHT(G112,12),3)="OIS",LEFT(G112,3))="OIS",1,2)

You are not error checking if G112 has anything or blah blah blah..
Just add iferror..
