if can be so confusing to me :rolleyes:

I will try to explain
I would like cell B1 to have a formula that is......
If cell A1 = "did complete" then cell C1=Cell D1
but if Cell A1 = "did not complete" then Cell C1=Cell D2

Cell A1 is a drop down menu
with the did complete and did not complete as the selections

A formula in B1 can only affect B1, not any other cell like C1.

In C1 enter:

=IF(A1="did complete",D1,D2)
