If searching same value in multiple indepepndent cells, if any value true, then "X"

This is the original formula that searches one cell for the value and it works:

=IFERROR(IF(SEARCH("*MEDI-CAL*",'Phone Referral'!A6,1),"X1",””),"F")

Here's what I've tried with no avail:

=IFERROR(IF(SEARCH("*MEDI-CAL*",'Phone Referral'!A6,1),"X",IF(SEARCH("*MEDI-CAL*",'Phone Referral'!D10,1),"X","")),"F")

&

=IFERROR(IF(OR(SEARCH("*MEDI-CAL*",'Phone Referral'!A6,1),SEARCH("*MEDI-CAL*",'Phone Referral'!D10,1)),"X1",””),"F")

any help would be greatly appreciated
*can't use IFS
