 I am not sure which way to do this. I was using the IF function for this particular problem, which has not worked. This is my problem:

weekly
bi-weekly
monthly

Last 3 Mo.

I need to tell Excel to look at cell B1 and if it is greater than 0 multiply by 13. But, if B1 is empty look at cell B2 and multiply by 2 then by 3 then add half of the value in cell B2. But, if B2 is empty look at cell B3 and multiply by 3.

Try this.

The 6 in the formula refers to your taking B2 and multiplying by 2 and then by 3

=IF(B1>0,B1*13,IF(AND(B1="",B2<>""),B2*6+B2/2,B3*3))

IF

Thank You for that. It worked like a charm!!!! One question, however, where did you get the 6 from and why did you put it where you did?

As I mentioned in my previous post. I got the 6 from simplifying 2 * 3.

In your post you mention:
But, if B1 is empty look at cell B2 and multiply by 2 then by 3 then add half of the value in cell B2.

My understanding is that you are multiplying B2 by 2 and then again by 3 before adding 1/2 of B2 to that result.

Correct?
