IF then COUNTBLANK formula not working for me

Hi all

I'm trying to count the blank cells where the status is not closed using this formula

=IF(B2:B6,"<>Closed",COUNTBLANK(A2:A6))

However, I'm getting a #VALUE error. Any suggestions on why it wouldn't work? Thanks!
