so I'm trying to make a model based on a lottery pool that I made

each person has a balance and that would decrease by $5 twice a week (because the draw is twice a week) and like an if statement where if the balance is zero, it will say "email person to fill up balance "

obviously I'm trying to make this as automated as possible but can't think of how to get it started

would I need have the dates in one column ?

the draw dates are every tuesday and friday

Select a hidden cell
Somehide hide payroll data in column G? Press F5. Type G1. Enter. Look in formula bar while you arrow down through G.
Your trigger seems $ related, not date related to me. You're trying to have what automated - emailing or just showing you when to do it yourself? The issue with automated emails is that usually at least one more trigger factor is needed; something like "email if zero BUT not if we already did". In that case you'd need an "I emailed" flag of some sort. For now, why not just use conditional formatting in your column to turn cell background red/yellow/whatever if $0 AND the next column in row does not have a value you entered, such as "emailed"? Would seem to me that you'd want to do this when the value is something higher than 0, such as $5 or maybe even $10
