Import External Data Fails if Access Database Open

Dear all,

When another user on the intranet has my Access Database Open, I am unable to import data from my Access Database onto my Excel Spreadsheet.

Is there a way to configure Access such that I can import the external data into excel and have another user editing the database?

Any help is appreciated,
