import .txt files

I have a dilemia, when I import a large .txt file the negative numbers appear like this....123456.78-, I need the negative to be on the other side, like this -123456.78. Is there anyway to do this? I have tried recording a macro, but that doesn't work, I tried a custom format that doesn't work either. Any help would be excellent!!!! Thanks.......

What version of Excel do you have?

I believe in later versions there is an option to fix this via Data>Text to Columns..., something like Trailing minuses or something.

If you wanted to automate try recording a macro when you do it manually.

when i try to record the macro, it copies the number in the cell to the new cell. if i change a2, then run the macro, it makes a3 the same as a2

i tried the text to columns, that does work either.
