Importing Data from the internet.

Hello,

I wish to import data from the web to an excel spreadsheet for analysis. I can achieve what i need no problem, but i was wondering if there was some way of automating the process as i usually require data from up to 50 urls at one time.

Is there any way to set up web address parameters and with one keystroke import the data from each of the address's?

I'm using excel 2002 and an example of the data I import is http://www.tabq.com.au/2002/09/17/VR04.html

The other url's in this example would be include the last four letters/digits VR01 through VR08.

I used to do something like this to automatically refresh data in Excel..

Set shFirstQtr = Workbooks(1).Worksheets(1)
Set qtQtrResults = shFirstQtr.QueryTables _
.Add(Connection:="URL;http://www.marketprices.ft.com/ftpages/mp_cucctall_rate.htm", _
Destination:=shFirstQtr.Cells(1, 1))
With qtQtrResults
.WebFormatting = xlNone
.WebSelectionType = xlSpecifiedTables
.WebTables = "1,2"
.Refresh
End With

At this stage i'm not looking at 'auto refresh' however i may require it in the future.

Sure but this should be picking up the tables from the internet and putting them into Excel (you can remove the refresh).

The problem I have is i am scarcely conversant with VB. I understand from the code you have given it will display the data from that one particular web site. What I am looking for is data from a number of url's, i.e one for each race per day.
I hope this makes sense.

You can replicate the code and simply change the URL's (you will need to know all of them to do this automatically) - and then change the destination of the returned data.
