importing Excel sheet in a workbook

Hi there: I have a excel file(mdata.xls) that every month changes with new data. I have another excel template that I use to generate report using this mdata.xls file. Now how can I import this excel file into my template each month.

One useful way is to set up a query via Data/Get External data/New Query/<New Datasource> .. etc.

Providing the source file is a simple table and the name is kept the same, you can simply use Data/Refresh data to bring in the new data.

Another way would be to use a pivot table, when that could be rereshed in the same way.
