Sub Racks()
Dim cadd As String
Dim acol As Integer
acol = ActiveCell.Column
cadd = Cells(16, acol - 1).Address(ReferenceStyle:=xlR1C1) & ":" & Cells(115, acol - 1).Address(ReferenceStyle:=xlR1C1) 'range to get unique values
'MsgBox (cadd)
Cells(117, acol - 1).Value = "=" & "Unique" & "(Filter(" & cadd & "," & cadd & "<>""""" & "))" 'unique and filter formula
End Sub

whenever this macro is ran the results add an @ to the formula preventing it from spilling
=@UNIQUE(FILTER($C$16:$C$115,$C$16:$C$115<>""))

i need it to spill is there a way to prevent excel from adding the @

Hi & welcome to MrExcel.
How about
VBA Code:
Cells(117, acol - 1).Formula2= "=Unique(Filter(" & cadd & "," & cadd & "<>""""" & "))"
