Hello,

How would I turn these inch values into decimals (they are originally fractions entered as text):

C8 = 5/8"
C9 = 3/4"

Thanks!

That works great for the fractions. Thanks! Unfortunately, I failed to mention another possible value which is a whole number of inches. For instance 1" or 12". Can that be worked into your formula?

Maybe not the most elegant way but here:

Excel 2010
AB
15/8"0.625
23/4"0.75
33/5"0.6
41"1
52.5"2.5
63/8"0.375
72/5"0.4
Sheet3
Cell Formulas
RangeFormula
B1=IFERROR(1*LEFT(A1,FIND("/",A1)-1)/MID(A1,FIND("/",A1)+1,LEN(A1)-FIND("/",A1)-1),1*SUBSTITUTE(A1,"""",""))
