Guessing this should be fairly simple, however cannot think where I am going wrong.

I have a big data sheet which includes data for thousands of orders. The columns include: customer, carriage cost, our cost

I have calculated the % increase by doing [our cost - carriage cost] / carriagecost]

The above formula works perfectly, however when i come to display this in my pivot table it doesn't seem to be correct.

My pivot table headers include: Customer, total value of orders, total value of carriage, total value of our costs, % increase

I figured that if i bring through the % increase into the values section of the pivot, i could change it average of % increase which would then give me the total % increase for each given customer.

However these values are not adding up to be correct. Hopefully that is clear, i could not include any screenshots due to sensitive data.
