Increasing rows in formula by increment of 1 every 3 rows

Hello,
I am searching for help on a formula to increase by increments of 1 in every third row. Needing $C$2 in row G3 and $C$3 in G6 and $C$4 in G9, etc. If I put a number 1 in cell A1 and number 2 in cell A4 and number 3 in cell A7, etc then Excel will fill down for me accurately but the formula is not incrementing properly. I thought the ROW formula could help but I could not write it to work. Help needed. Using Excel 2007.

Need to see data from c2 in row g3, data from row c3 in g6, data in row c4 in g9, etc. - understood?

Is this what you mean regarding column A?
But I dont get your point regarding Column C and G. Can you provide sample result?

I have to laugh at myself. Not used to posting. The reference to column A was only an example off fill down. The actual formula I need is column G.

Enter the following into Row 2 of any Column to initially reference G3...

=OFFSET($G$1,3*ROW()-1,0)

...and then copy down as required.

You only need use G3 if you want the intervening lines to refer to cells too, otherwise use F3's formula.

Or using Trebor76's technique:
=OFFSET($C$2,ROW()/3-1,0)
in a cell in row 3 and copied down.

I need time to try your suggestions. No one exactly understood my need. Due to my lack of experience. Lighten up. I will get better with my explanation next time. The last post was the closest in F. But with your samples I should be able to write it to get what i need after I practice. Thanks.

Enter with:
1. the starting number in A1

2. The Increment in C2

3. the number of rows to jump in C5

Then insert this formula in A2
=IF(MOD(ROWS($1:1),$C$5+1)=0,$A$1+INT(ROWS($1:1)/($C$5+1))*$C$2,"")

copy down till you want

I must have completely misunderstood as my formula linked every third row in Col G starting from G3 when copied down
