I have searched for this but can't find the answer, maybe because it it too easy!

I am trying to insert another excel file into my worksheet so I can build a project dash board and see the different elements all complied in one sheet.

When I insert the object (as a linked file) how can I adjust the viewing area of the inserted object. It only shows me some active rows but I want to increase the rows it shows. I know how to do it if I insert an excel spreadsheet into power point or word but can't seem to figure it out it excel.

Thanks,Galen

Links? Where??
If Excel says you have links but you can't find them, go to Formulas, Name Manager. Look for old links to dead workbooks & delete.
Hi Galen,

I've never tried to insert an Excel file into another Excel file as a linked object. Since no one has replied, I'll share my 2 cents. ;)

Is there any reason that you wouldn't just have your dashboard file get data from your source file using Cell references or Index-Match formulas to find the data?

Well I just wanted it so the mater file was the one that was changed and not the dash board version. I though about doing it that way but was worried about version control with the files.

That's a good idea to "link" instead of copying the data so that you have one source.

I'm suggesting that rather than using OLE link, that you just have the charts, or tables in your dashboard reference data cells that are in your other workbook.
