Whenever I insert a column in Excel 2010 it takes the formatting from the Column to the left. I want to insert a Column without formatting. Just a blank column. Why is this happening.

Easy bullets in Excel
If you have a numeric keypad, press Alt+7 on numeric keypad to type a bullet in Excel.
You could copy an unused column and insert it.

I know that works but I should be able to insert a new column without having to copy from an existing column. All columns should have individual Formatting controls.

After you have inserted a new column, there is a pop-up "paint brush" icon in the top cell. if you click on that icon, you have the option to clear the formatting on the inserted column(s).
