Hi all.

Hope someone can think with me of a way to figure out if excel is currently running some code or not.

I am using this third party addin that runs some code intermittently (the addin VBA Project is password protected) and I would like to have a formula in Cell A1 that displays TRUE as soon as the code starts running and FALSE otherwise.

Thanks in advance.

How to change case of text in Excel?
Use =UPPER() for upper case, =LOWER() for lower case, and =PROPER() for proper case. PROPER won't capitalize second c in Mccartney
Thinking back on it, I think having a VBA function continuously running to monitor the addin code execution will always return TRUE because the function itself will be running code ! So the question of using code to monitor code execution is non valid.

Just out of interest, and this is now a more generic question : Is it possible to know if a second instance of excel is currently executing some code or not ?

If the iteration rate were reasonable, maybe the code could set an environment variable at the start of execution and clear it when it's done.

Thanks shg for the response.

Unfortunately, I have no control over the code in the addin as it is password protected and it executes at random intervals.
