I am working on a macro to highlight cells in a large table that meet some criteria. I had it partially working but have run into a problem.

I was setting what I thought was the Fill color using statements like this:

VBA Code:
Dim BGMax
BGMax = RGB(255, 255, 0)
Range(rnWins2).Cells(i, 2).Interior.Color = BGMax

Now that several cells are highlighted, I cannot change the background (fill?) color using the Fill dropdown.

Is interior.color different than fill?

Excel Facts

Return population for a City
If you have a list of cities in A2:A100, use Data, Geography. Then =A2.Population and copy down.
Fill option when formatting cells equates to Interior.color

I can't minisheet because it hangs Excel. Here's the best I can do. This is a screenshot of part of the table. One of the problem cells (Y8) is selected.

If I select Y6 (75) and click on the "Fill menu" in the Font tab, I see this. Notice that the yellow color is selected. I added that fill color from the sheet.

But if I select Y8, that fill menu looks like this. The yellow color is not selected. Y8 was colored by my macro code. Something happened and now I cannot change it.

Sorry, I can't duplicate your issue. Could you possibly upload and provide a link to a sample file that demonstrates your issue?

OK. I deleted everything in that workbook but the table in question. I added a text box explaining where the problem is. I uploaded it to this OneDrive folder.

I am not at a computer at the moment but can you check the cell for conditional formatting.
Doh! 🤔😫 I was fooling around with that several versions ago and just forgot.

Thank you. I was afraid I was going crazy. (That's still a possibility)
