hi friends please what i require is that to password a sheet in such a way that you most provide a password before you view it contents. i do not mean to protect a sheet in such a way that no body can edit it content.

Wildcard in VLOOKUP
Use =VLOOKUP("Apple*" to find apple, Apple, or applesauce
Hi,
I don't know which version of excel you're using but in the 2013 version that's fairly simple. If you go on File and then within the Info section you see an icon that says 'protect workbook'. Click that and then choose 'encrypt with password'. Then select the password you want.

Hope this helps.

You can hide the sheet then protect the workbook. To view the sheet you would unprotect the workbook then unhide the sheet.
