Is there a way to add objects/make them visible/invisible in Powerpoint based off of an Excel cell?

Good Evening!

I've been able to update words that go into Powerpoint, but have not had luck with either adding/making objects/shapes or with making them visible/invisible based off of an Excel cells value. Is this a possibility or are words/numbers the only thing you can link? I'm assuming not, but I can't seem to find an answer online. Appreciate the help!
