Link updates not working

Hi Everyone!!

I have work Book B with sheet 1.In this sheet i have entered value 1505 in Cell A1 which has link to some other WORK BOOK

When I am trying to past link this value of 1505 of work book B in other work book A in sheet -1 i get message as #NAME? and not 1505
Please help me in this

What do you mean by "past a link"?
Your copy the cell and then in Workbook A you are using Paste Special "Patste Link"?

yes i mean i use Paste Special and then Patste Link
