I have a workbook with multipile worksheet. One of the worksheet, called result have name range on. I want to link up another worksheet to some of the cell of this result worksheet without the name range. e.g. it should link up as "!resultA1" instead of what the cell named.
I can type in the worksheet name and cells number but then I'll have to type in numbers of them. Anyone have a better method? Thanks.

Excel Facts

Return population for a City
If you have a list of cities in A2:A100, use Data, Geography. Then =A2.Population and copy down.
in Excel 2003:Menu: Insert / Name... / Paste... / List

This will paste all the names in use in the sheet with their addresses. Now you can use these addresses

Why don't you want to use the range names though? That should work as well.

thanks, but i only have the 2007 version.

the reason is that the workbook contains too many worksheet and many contains name range as well as the calculation formular. If I link up the cell on the summary worksheet to the result worksheet without the name range, then my colleague can located it easily without looking the name box and wonder where it is.

If you have a better solution or recommendation it is much appreciated. I want to linked item to shown as ='result'!A1 instead of name (year_1). thanks!!!:)

The menu way of getting the range names as a list with their addresses also exists in Excel 2007, but I don't know where, as the menu in 2007 is so f...ed up.
