links cannot be updated

I have a file that canstantly gives me the message ..."one or more links cannot be updated..." I am only linked to one file and when I check the status it is always OK. I've looked in name manager and all I have defined are print ranges and headers.

How can I find the "missing link" ?

I have tried all of that. There is just the one file. All that is in NAMES is the name of some defined print ranges. There are no #REF errors.

Any other ideas?

Look for issues in the other file too ... further bad links, names, or circular reference errors.
