List of Excel wkbks within a folder

I have like 50 excel sheets in one folder on my desktop and I just need to list all of the names listed in an excel sheet. Any ideas?

Try this: change the path to suit

Sub ListFiles()
Dim MyFolder As String
Dim MyFile As String
Dim j As Integer
MyFolder = "C:\example"
MyFile = Dir(MyFolder & "\*.xls")
Do While MyFile <> ""
    j = j + 1
    Cells(j, 1).Value = MyFile
    MyFile = Dir
Loop

I know a way to generate a text file of the same.

Make a new notepad document and include the following text

dir /s > output.txt

save it as genfile.bat

when you run the batchfile it will output into a text file.
