I have searched through the site, and have found many similar items regarding the locking of cell, but nothing that is quite the same.

I have a small chart. The cells in the chart are formatted using conditional formatting.
Depending on the values of cells on the x axis (Park Names) and y axis (time Slots), the colour of the intersecting cell will be orange or purple.

If the cell is orange, I would like to allow the user to input a number in the orange cell, however if a cell is turned purple, I would like to lock the cell so the user can not enter any information. The orange color is generated if there is both a "park" and a "timeslot". If there is no park and/or there is no time slot, the cell should be purple and thus be locked.

How do you lock a cell based on the colour that is generated by the conditional formatting generated by the values of the other two other cells?

Thank you!

What is =ROMAN(40) in Excel?
The Roman numeral for 40 is XL. Bill "MrExcel" Jelen's 40th book was called MrExcel XL.

You don't. Have the code lock a cell based on the condition(s) that cause the coloring.

Thanks for the advice. That would be an approach I have not investigated.
I will see if I can make that work, however, I believe there may be too many variables for me to hand, and for them to be applied against each cell.

Thanks for the reply!!
