lock text box

hey folks,

how do you attach/lock a text box to a cell?

basically i want to lock/protect the sheet, but i want people to write in the text box but not move the text box.

hope that makes sense?

right click on your text box / go to Format Text Box / Protection remove check from lock text
now protect your work sheet --- you can type in text box but not move it

I think i should have mentioned that i'm on the new version of excel, and when i right click on the text box there isn't that option? is it done differently on the new excel?

right click on your text box --- go to Size and Properties / Properties / uncheck lock text then password protect your work sheet
