Hi everybody,

How are you guys doing?

I would like to if there is any formula in excel or vba that can search a file when its name change every day. like...

yesterday it called "myfiles_20_3_2011" and today it calls "myfiles_21_3_2011"...

I was trying to search by looking at the first letters in the name file... giving me the file whose starts with "myfiles_"

did you get it?

Thanks,

Rafael

You could use the dir command in VB, assuming you know what folder the file would be in.

d = dir ("c:\myfolder\myfiles_*.xls")

will give you the name of the first file matching the partial search that it finds in the given folder. You might get problems if there's more than 1 match.
