Lookup Values between sheets

Is there a way to lookup values between sheets (Sheet1 and Sheet2) but only change extract the value from cells in Sheet2 only if the a match is found? Example: Sheet1 will contain more data than Sheet2. Sheet1 already has data and needs to be updated with data from Sheet2 only if the lookup value is found. For those where no match is found, allow cell value in Sheet1 as is.

Excel Facts

Which came first: VisiCalc or Lotus 1-2-3?
Dan Bricklin and Bob Frankston debuted VisiCalc in 1979 as a Visible Calculator. Lotus 1-2-3 debuted in the early 1980's, from Mitch Kapor.
Hiker95. These links doesn't seem to offer what I am looking for. Maybe no built-in function is there to achieve the objective. But in short, all I want is, if using the vlookup to pull results from one column based on matching values between two sheets, then if no match is found, the result in the active cell in the original sheet must remain unchanged; after copying the formula.

Yorelsemaj,

Can we see your data?

What version of Excel are you using?

You will generally get much more help (and faster) in this forum if you can post your small samples (what you have and what you expect to achieve) directly in the forum.

To attach screenshots, see below in my Signature block: Post a screen shot with one of these:
