Looooooooonnnnggggg lines of text in posts. How to stop doi

Hi Tom,

I've had the same problem myself and end up going back to edit the post and shorten the lines. I'd also be interested to find out what causes it.

Tom, its because of the <pre> and </pre> tags. Since you're telling HTML not to "mess" with your text, it shows it EXACTLY as you post it. Thhis line

"Replace the string "MySub" which is assigned to the constant, MyOnAction, with the correct name of the procedure you will be running when the user clicks the popup menu's control."

doesn't have a line break, therefor, it's showing it in one single line, making this page really wide !

Awww...Juan beat me to it

At any rate, yes, it's a side effect of using the PRE tags instead of the code command.

I tend to wrap lines of code as I write them anyway so I can see it all on the screen, though. ::shrug::

Thanks for the info.
Juan?

""Replace the string "MySub" which is assigned to the constant, MyOnAction, with the correct name of the procedure you will be running when the user clicks the popup menu's control."

doesn't have a line break, therefor, it's showing it in one single line, making this page really wide !"

I went back to the post in question and lo and behold it shows in multi-line form in the edit window? How do I insert line breaks?

Thanks again.
Tom

It shows multiline form in the edit window because this little box that you type in is set up for word-wrapification.

Just go in there and hit enter where you want it to start on a new line.

Make more sense?:)

Hi Kristy:

I see that you are a literary innovator ... I am also at times a subscriber to such creative ventures.

Regards!

Yogi

I'm glad someone caught on to that.

At least I didn't make it "word-wrapification in the hizouse, yo"

Kristy

where's your Flash macromedia animation gone
:( .... I really liked that one.

I am currently looking @ coding this for use in excel.....

I've still got it, just didn't like the one I did for me as much as the one I did for Jack. Go figure.

At any rate, I got it up on the board using the EMBED HTML command.<EMBED width="100" height="50" src="http://homepage.a5.com/~kristy/misc/kristy.swf"></EMBED>

Besides, you should have heard me giggle after I decided to make the puppy run across the screen. That still amuses me :)

Heehee...look at him goooo! (no, some days it doesn't take much to amuse me at all)
