I have a tricky question and a large protected worksheet.

Currently users must press a button or double-click to display a userform with names and dump the name to the protected cell.

I would like users to be able to press Delete in the protected cell to delete a name without activating the userform.

I have tried SendKeys to capture the delete stroke but either its not possible or I'm not doing it right.

I tried unprotecting the column and applying data validation (allowing blanks) but am not happy with the solution. is there an alternative?

What did Pito Salas invent?
Pito Salas, working for Lotus, popularized what would become to be pivot tables. It was released as Lotus Improv in 1989.

One thought might be to throw an option button from the Control Toolbox on your protected worksheet and assign your unprotect - clear - reprotect macro to it.
