macro enabled workbooks

I produce workbooks with macros and pass them to other. I predominantly work in 2003 but I also have 2007.
If I am working in 2007 should I always save as a macro-enabled workbook or just as an ordinary file.

I know this is probably a fairly silly question and I know there is information out ther but I can't quite get my head around what the pros and cons are or are there no cons at all?

If the other users you're passing to are on 2003 you should use compatibility mode, at least that has been my experience.
