Hi, thanks in advance to anyone who tries to decipher this, I have a basic knowledge of excel and am not sure if this is even possible:

On one sheet I have a floor plan of a building laid out, with values superimposed upon it for where sensors are placed - there are about 6 sensors (values 1-6) per room (varying with room size, etc.).

I want to create a macro (or something like it) that will:

When a sensor is active (selected) on the blueprint, the measurement from this sensor (listed on another sheet with a corresponding number) is displayed on the top of the floor-plan page in a cell.

Thus, when someone clicks on each sensor, its measurement is shown in the same cell - when another sensor is selected, the value in the cell changes to this sensor's corresponding measurement.

This is further complicated by the fact that the sensors are unevenly distributed throughout the floor plan, and it is here where I am not sure that it is even possible.

Excel Facts

Does the VLOOKUP table have to be sorted?
No! when you are using an exact match, the VLOOKUP table can be in any order. Best-selling items at the top is actually the best.
with VBA, almost anything is possible in Excel, the question is often if it's worth the effort

It sounds like an interesting challenge and I might give it a shot, but I would need a lot of information on how you set up the floorplan etc.
Do you somehow import live sensor data into this sheet? Or am I reading too much into this?

If it's not confidential, you might wanna post the file somewhere so I (and other interested people of course) could have a look...
