I am very confused, because whenever I write an "on dirty" event in the property sheet using the macro option, the Event tab doesn't afterwarss display the macro, but the form seems to be behaving like the event is there. What's going on? Is this possible?

How to calculate loan payments in Excel?
Use the PMT function: =PMT(5%/12,60,-25000) is for a $25,000 loan, 5% annual interest, 60 month loan.
Which version of Microsoft Access are you using?

it's 2007. And mostly it does display - for example the buttons I built with the wizard have associated macro displayed as normal.

When using 2007 and the command button wizard it embbeds the macro, so you can use it like a hyperlink (associate to labels).

but why is some of it not embedded [might not be the right term - but not visible in the property sheet event tab]?
