I have a spreadsheet that users accress to record their hours worked.

What I want to be able to do is for the manager to be able to highlight one or more cells that the user has completed and lock them as their approval of the hours. This needs to have some sort of password protection on to prevent the user amending their hours after the manager has approved them. I would like to do this through a macro so all the manager has to do is highlight the cells and click the macro to lock them.

I've tried to record the key stokes to do this but the password element is not recorded. Can anyone help?

Excel Facts

Can you AutoAverage in Excel?
There is a drop-down next to the AutoSum symbol. Open the drop-down to choose AVERAGE, COUNT, MAX, or MIN
Check my post#14 HERE and download the example workbook. It may not be exactly what you are asking but it is a timesheet I used before and offers some protection.
