Mail Merge, #'s rounding 12 spots

I've created a mail merge document that grabs numbered data (currency) and plugs it into the letter.
My problem is that sometimes the amount will add on a certain # of digits, but not on other digits. It's hit or miss with the column. Does it on some, but not on the others.
For example: "The current amount of $1487.3800000000001 remains. The beginning recovery amount was $2065.71."

How can I remove these extra digits. The above amount should only be $1487.38?

Also, all whole amounts do not add the cents if it's zero. $10.00 ends up merging as $10
How can I have any whole dollar amounts default to adding the .00.

Thanks for taking a look and helping me out...I really appreciate it.

Lock one reference in a formula
Need 1 part of a formula to always point to the same range? use $ signs: $V$2:$Z$99 will always point to V2:Z99, even after copying

What you want to be looking at here is formatting the data in Word.

You are using Word aren't you.

If you are what you need to look at are switches.

You add these to your mail merge fields to format them as required.

It's, for a change, covered quite well in the Word Help files.:)

I think you're looking for the TEXT function.

e.g. B1="The current amount is "&TEXT(A1,"$#,##0.00")
